Severus & Harry Gen Recs

E. M. Snape

In Blood Only (Tauri) or here (ff.net)
Rating: M (former R)
Type: Drama
Complete
Summary: Snape is Harry's father. No one is happy to hear it.
Notes: Yes, it's a Severitus Challenge ("Snape is Harry's father"), and this Snape is petty and horrible. But the characterisations are very, very interesting, and the story is enthralling.

GatewayGirl

Blood Magic (Schnoogle)
Characters: Harry, Snape
Rating: R
Type: Drama, Angst
Complete
Summary: Blood magic was supposed to keep Harry safe, but his relatives are expendable. Blood magic was supposed to keep Harry looking like his adoptive father, but it's wearing off. Blood is a bond, but so is the memory of hate -- or love.
Notes: Yes, it's a Severitus Challenge fic ("Snape is Harry's father"), but very well-written. Deep, rich characterisations; intelligent dialogues; interesting socio-political discussions. The interactions between Snape and Harry are very intense. Also: a slashy Snape/Lupin subplot.

Jacquez (Laura JV)

The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Rating: PG-13
Type: Drama
WIP - only Year One is complete
Summary: Year One - Harry becomes Snape's apprentice. Snark ensues.
Notes: Wonderfully written, in the best tradition of master-apprentice stories. A strong first person Snape PoV. Marvellous illustrations by Snaples.

Mariner (Marina Rusalka)

Harry Potter and the Polka Dot Plague
Rating: PG
Type: Drama, Action/Adventure
Complete
Summary: Harry Potter discovers why polka dots are evil. Severus Snape discovers why it's a bad idea to forge your medical records. Lucius Malfoy discovers why you shouldn't give suprise gifts to your boss.
Notes: Very well-written, funny and sweet. It should be canon!

Natt

Learning to Spell
Rating: PG
Type: Drama, Adventure
Complete
Summary: Harry is very young and has been sent to live with Snape. He finds it easier to make friends with the forest creatures than the mean old man.
Notes: One of the loveliest stories I've ever read in this fandom. Natt takes you back to the wonderful (if sometimes frightening) childhood days!
