Notes on the Series:
Two first stories - Yes, Harry as Snape's cat might sound like a fluffy cliché, but no, this is not a cliché series at all. This is a very original story about affection, about a slowly progressing relationship. And it's not fluffy either -- it's a bittersweet series, a blending of angst and humour. The dialogues are rich. The writing is poetic, evocative, painting eerie atmospheres. One of the most beautiful pieces in the HP fandom.
"Purification" - a very dark story. Not for the faint of heart. I haven't finished it yet :-). But the authors say "The River" is much lighter and funnier.

It's also very well-written and everybody loved it, but if you want me to be frank, I didn't like the ending, perhaps because I can't buy this characterisation of Harry as so emotionally naïve.

Notes: Sometimes I can't recognise this Snape - perhaps he's too aristocratic for me. But Icarus's writing is seductive, and she adds wonderful magical details, and her sex scenes are so perfect.

Notes on the whole series: One of the most heart-wrenching, remarkable and popular Severus/Harry series ever written. A classic. I cannot be objective about that series. The academic in me would remark that it's difficult to follow its labyrinthic meanders, that there's an overdose of angst in some passages, etc., etc.. But why would I want to be academic, when there are so many moments of pure magic? The watch subplot (in the Civil War novella, in Mariti and, later, in The Spy) is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read in my life. CW! Snape might not be the most canonical Snape, but I've fallen in love with him, and the other characters, and the whole series. It's seductive, addictive, enthralling.

This series is a classic and lured many people into HP fandom and Snape/Harry ship.

Notes: An exquisite language, evocative, metaphoric. I'm not sure I recognise Snape here, but I can suspend my disbelief for the sake of the amazing style. A battle of powers, a hatefic. It's so powerful, that feeling: hate. And this story captures it perfectly.

Notes: A short story told from Harry's point of view. I confess I wasn't hooked by the story at first, but after reading its sequel, I've read it again and then I could notice how skillfull is Tradescant when she portrays Harry's tiny, limited world, bringing focus to the details.

Summary: Severus Snape is kind of tense.
Notes: A masterpiece. Tradescant is a master of the short story. Every word is in place here. And every word is so dense, so intense. Interestingly, this story, written pre-OotP, seems to be perfectly in tune with it: the main theme here is communication, or the lack of it. Oh, and what a fantabulous Snape PoV!
